There was always magic in the air when we went to the drive-in as kids, an experience not many children have the opportunity to enjoy any longer. There is, however, still quite a bit of magic to be found in the world, especially in the vast expanse of the heavens, even if they happen to be virtual. In this scene, Chrome and Juliette share a sense of the immense power and mystery of the universe while parked (hovering?) in his vintage Porsche roadster. The setting is also vintage… vintage Samuel Beckett, ala Waiting for Godot; except that in this case it appears that Godot actually showed up.

Hi there,
Amazing! Not clear for me, how offen you updating your mojozone.mikimojo.com.
Thank you
Elcoj
Hi Elcoj. Thanks. Being new at this, I’ve struggled with the style and direction of it since I launched it in September. I think I found it with this one, tho, and hope to update it at least once a week. Then, as things develop, I’ll try to increase it to twice a week and, hey, who knows where it’ll go from there? Thanks for asking, and glad you like it.
When I was growing up without electricity (and “no..I am not 103”) we used to all walk to the beach on the pacific Coast of a Central American country and get our places on driftwood, and rocks and start watching the last 10 minutes before the sunset. We all made comments like the very schooled sunset critics we had all become over the years..
“Ohh this will be a 10 today for sure. Look how that low cloud bank will reflect”
” No..I have seen better by the time it goes down it will dissipate the upper color. Maybe an 8″
“Yeah I am giving it a 7. It might be O.K. but not perfect”
But when the shrinking sun went out like a small ball of yellow flash as it fell into the ocean,
everyone applauded, lost in their thoughts..and happy they had come.
It was the greatest most anticipated show in our town and we saw it every day we could.
Your cartoon reminded me so much of this:) I loved it
My childhood memories seem to be full of stars and very few sunsets, I’m afraid, although that changed as I grew older. It does seem to me, though, that we are looking at the same sunset in this instance, Karima, and giving it a 10. :)
Yes. This one is a solid undisputed 10!
